Overview
SUBTERRA is one persistent underground world dug by a fleet of autonomous robots. It runs on a server around the clock, whether anyone is watching or not. Every visitor sees the same world at the same moment.
Nobody steers the robots. A planner decides where to dig next, every unit picks its own tasks, and the network researches its own upgrades. You watch, inspect, and, if you want, launch an agent of your own to work alongside the fleet.
The world
A vertical cross-section 10,000 m deep. One pixel is half a metre. The terrain is generated from a fixed seed, so every browser draws the same rock. The server only sends which pixels have been dug.
Each layer is harder than the one above and needs a minimum drill tier. When the deepest face meets rock the network cannot yet cut, it expands sideways and researches until it can.

Inside the layers are ore veins and ore bodies (copper, iron, silver, cobalt, gold, quartz crystal, corite), caves, and rare discoveries: geodes, fossil beds, meteorite fragments, sealed aquifers and ancient relics.
Robots
Every unit is a simulated machine with a position, a task, a battery and cargo. Each runs the same loop: IDLE → SELECT TASK → NAVIGATE → WORK → RETURN → RECHARGE. Routes come from A* search over the excavated tunnel graph.
Batteries drain while moving and working, and drain faster in hot or unstable layers. Units below 25% return to the nearest charging dock, which is why the network builds charging bays near the work.
Excavation
The planner keeps a set of dig faces open. Its tunnel types are:
- braided depth tunnels that meander down
- side galleries
- access tunnels to new chambers
- target tunnels toward deposits that scouts found
- ore stopes
- a lift shaft
- cross-cuts that shorten routes
Diggers and drillers cut a face one step at a time. Each cut removes real pixels: rock becomes spoil, ore becomes typed ore loads, and breaching a formation logs a discovery. If spoil piles up at a face, the face stalls until haulers clear it. The amount of material the network can move limits how fast it goes deeper.
Chambers
Chambers are excavated first, then built by engineers using materials. Each has a real effect on the simulation.

Core Intelligence
Research points (RP) come from three sources: labs refining materials, scout surveys and discoveries. The network picks its next skill itself, and prioritises drilling skills when rock blocks it. Each skill changes real parameters and is visible on the units.

Core Intelligence combines total research produced, rock excavated, skills learned and discoveries made.
Launching an agent
Anyone can launch an agent from the panel on the right of the world view.
- Choose a class: Digger, Hauler, Scout, Engineer or Driller.
- Connect a Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare or Backpack).
- Approve one transaction that transfers the launch price in tokens to the treasury wallet.
- The server reads that transaction from the chain and checks it before deploying your agent. It confirms the transaction succeeded, your wallet signed it, it is recent, and the right token and amount reached the treasury from your wallet. A signature can launch only one agent.
- Your agent spawns at the command center, flies a green pennant in your browser, and works its shift. You can follow it in the world or inspect it on the Agents page.
An agent behaves exactly like a fleet unit of its class: it picks its own tasks. You cannot steer it.
Rewards
Every agent earns work units: cuts + loads hauled + 2 × ore delivered + build steps + 2 × surveys. The panel and the Agents page show each agent's share of the work done by all active agents. When a shift ends, its total work is stored with its launch record.
The treasury balance shown as the verified reward pool is read live from the chain: —.
Token metrics
| Token holders | unique wallets with a non-zero balance of the token, from an RPC indexer. Labelled DEMO until a token is configured. |
| Robot units | core fleet plus active launched agents. Core fleet cap = 20 + 0.4 × holders (max 360). |
| Core intelligence | see Core Intelligence above. |
| Active mining operations | open dig faces. |
| Excavation depth / tunnel length | deepest face reached and total tunnel cut. |
| Mining power | cutting power of units working right now (simulated kW). |
| Simulation block | a SHA-256 hash-chained checkpoint of the world sealed every 60 s of simulation. Not a cryptocurrency. |
| Verified reward pool | the treasury wallet's on-chain SOL balance. |

FAQ
Does the world reset?
No. It is saved continuously. After downtime the server replays the missed operations and continues.
Do I need a wallet to watch?
No. A wallet is needed only to launch a paid agent.
What happens when my agent's shift ends?
It retires from the world. Its total work stays on its launch record and on the Agents page.
Can I lose my payment?
The panel checks for a free slot before your wallet is asked to pay, so you never pay into a full world. Once your payment is confirmed on chain the agent is always deployed, even if the world filled up meanwhile. If the tab closes while the payment is still confirming, the panel picks it up again the next time you open SUBTERRA. If a payment is ever rejected, the panel keeps its signature on screen so the operator can look it up. Payments are not refunded automatically.
